TO DO LIST | FURNITURE

Linden House is great venue due to the flexibility that is available. Unlike other venues we can provide couples with a blank canvas, should they so wish, to really personalise their day to match their preferences and their vision. There is a myriad of ways in which couples can personalise their day and one such way is by using our furniture in different ways or by hiring in furniture from our suppliers.

Some couples have a particular feel that they want to create for the day and as of late it has become very trendy to create a lounge layout in our rooms with small tables dotted around to create a very casual feel. We have had couples bring in rugs, floor lamps and indoor plants to really make Linden House feel cosy and homely. By adding these accents and combining them with moody lighting and jazz background music, couples set the tone in an effortless and affordable fashion.

Other couples like to change some of the items of furniture that we have available at Linden House. For example, they really like the idea of their guests sitting on round tables for their wedding breakfast and so as we have rectangular tables, we organise wooden tables which are delivered the day prior to the event (a surcharge applies). We then set up the room with the linen that is also provided by the suppliers and voila, the Ballroom is now set up with round tables. It is as easy as that.

We have a wide range of suppliers that we can recommend when it comes to furniture hire who all have different items. We find that if our couples would like to add a simple accent, for example, a different style of banqueting chair, or the addition of a loveseat, or perhaps a few benches for guests to sit on during the ceremony, there are two suppliers who are truly professional - https://www.furniturehireuk.com/ and https://www.yahire.com/

For couples who really want to change things at Linden House we would recommend Anthology Vintage Hire who are able to provide a wide array of items sure to impress guests. They can provide seating, tables, furniture, small props, large props, all kinds of vessels which can be used by your florist should they not have vessels that are in line with your theme, and so on. https://www.anthologyvintagehire.com/

In the past we have seen wooden beer tables in the Ballroom to create that vintage relaxed dining concept; we have seen a palette bar set up in the Captain’s Room which guests can approach to receive their mocktails and cocktails; we have had wooden barrels positioned throughout the Entrance Hall and out on the Front Terrace, serving as Poseur Tables; we have had rustic trestle tables serving as grazing stations positioned throughout the Ground Floor, and the list goes on.

A tip to remember when selecting the furniture layout at Linden House is the number of surfaces that you require and then the floral arrangements or decorations to be positioned on those surfaces. For example, you may wish to have your wedding cake on display throughout your reception. A table would therefore be required for the cake to be positioned on and then decorations which can come in the form of small posies or hurricane lanterns. Perhaps you would then like a table for wedding favours, gift cards, presents, flip flops etc.

Small tables dotted around the Ground Floor are great as they serve as focal points for your guests and ensure the mingling of those guests as they need to travel from one focal point to another.
