The days are rolling into each with such speed that it has become quite difficult to keep up and with sunshine finally on the cards the days are sure to melt into each other with even more ease.
The Front Terrace is definitely waiting to host lots and lots of events and we hope that you will take advantage of the beautiful setting with friends and family in the upcoming sunny days.
We are not only looking forward to sunny days but also to the upcoming Monday as it will hopefully convince even more Members to pop down to the Club House and more clients to book events with us in a business and leisure capacity.
We have had some great times with the football and the tennis and would like to thank all the Members for coming to join us for the great sporting events that have been taking place over the last few weeks, which culminated in a nail-biting Euros final. We hope you enjoyed the match worthy food that included loaded nachos and burgers.
For those draft enthusiasts you will have noticed the new beer offering available at the bar. We would really appreciate your feedback with the selection of drafts on offer. Some of you have requested that we make a change from Courage Best to Forty Niner so that will be making an entry this weekend. Hopefully you will enjoy the new addition.
Another new addition on the Bar are the Two Farmer crisps which are the first crisp brand that provides compostable crisp packets. This is one of the many things we are doing at Linden House to promote our sustainability policy and look forward to any suggestions on how to become greener.
At the moment we are still developing our Event Program and in order to ensure that lots of people attend we have installed a new facility on our website which will hopefully build a large mailing list of interested parties. We hope you will join!
We are also pleased to announce our renewed partnership with Sofar Sounds which we are hoping to start at the beginning of September. Sofar Sounds is a fabulous concept that gives up and coming artists an opportunity they may not have ordinarily had, to perform, in quirky venues. The ticket prices are really affordable and with over seven nights a show in London Sofar Sounds is definitely worth looking into. Watch this space for free tickets for Members.
On a more serious note, we have heard that a lot of you have got quite tired with working from home and we thought that it would be an idea for those of you who are local to come and work from Linden House a few days of the week. What better space to work at with river views and then you can follow your working day with an outing on the river, a session in the gym or a session in the bar. Sounds great! We will keep you posted on how to book this facility and will also let you know what it will include.
As you will see we have attached some photos that show our newly painted Front Door and Entrance Hall. In one of the photos, you will also see the top of the newly refurbished piece of furniture which we serve drinks from in the Entrance Hall. We thought we would turn the old unit into a travelling chest/seaman’s chest as it is in keeping with the history of the building. The Captain’s Room has had some new chandeliers and some new curtains and will soon be equipped with a new TV so some exciting times ahead for the Ground Floor Rooms.
