JANUARY 3.0 2022

It is time to update you all with the goings on of the past month at Linden House! Busy as always and thoroughly enjoying lots of Members coming through the doors to enjoy all the goings on.

The Sailors were dancing the night away for Burns Night and tucking into delicious Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and Cullen Skink; all washed down with a dram of whisky. The Rowers then took part in Quintin’s Head and subsequently congregated in the Members Bar for warming food and thirst-quenching drinks; rowing, drinking and eating were enjoyed by all.

All this scrummy food was whipped up by Gary who is our new Head Chef. He kicked off his first weekend by adding American Pancakes, Streaky Bacon and Maple Syrup to the breakfast offering which was met with glee by all the punters. Gary has a background in Pastry and so is sure to be adding lots of items to please all of those with a sweet tooth. He also has a lot of knowledge in the world of fitness and nutrition and as such we hope to be able to provide our sportsmen and women with a menu offering designed to provide a competitive advantage to those on the water. Exciting times ahead with menu design for the upcoming Spring/Summer season and the launch of Afternoon Teas and Sunday Lunches. Be sure to keep up to date by signing up to our newsletter and by checking our events on the Linden House website, under Members.

Speaking of events, a gentle reminder to those who are keen to enjoy a bit of music in the Ballroom at Linden House. Sofar Sounds will be back in the building on the 5th February. Be sure to grab your free tickets as they are normally £26.50 each. The Modest Merchant tickets are still on sale and the Quip Shed Comedy tickets too. Quip Shed have very kindly offered a discounted ticket for members using the code we have provided on the list of events so be sure to take advantage of this too. The comedians attending are reputable ladies and gents so it is sure to be a great evening!

With regards to new bits and bobs at Linden House, you will have noticed some new period furniture in the Entrance Hall and in the Lobby area at the bottom of the stairs. These are both second hand pieces of furniture in line with our aim to be as green a venue we can possibly be. They are also stunning pieces that look like they belong in this grand building. We hope you agree. We also hope you like the addition of beautiful flowers in the Entrance Hall, beautifully styled by Francis Smith Flowers. PS Valentines is coming up and if there is anyone who does beautiful flowers then it is Philippa at Francis Smith. She is an incredibly talented Flower Fairy and will be sure to create an arrangement that will hugely impress your significant other. Her website is https://www.francissmithflowers.com/

Over the last few weeks, we have been working with Mel Brown from Mel Brown Studios to get some new photos of our newly decorated rooms. We also wanted to tie the photo shoot in with our new arch and moon gate that we will be renting out to wedding couples for the talented Philippa to work her magic on. We thought we would show you what our beautiful rooms look like with a little floristry and a lot of sophistication and elegance.

We would also like to show you what Linden House can look like when a meeting is hosted in one of our rooms; a little less glamorous but so wonderful in comparison to other meeting rooms in London. We have the added advantage that we are in a stunning location and so delegates can attend a day meeting, team building activity, training session etc and have their breaks overlooking the river. If you can let your teams know that you happen to be a member of a great venue on the riverside within walking distance of Hammersmith Station and Ravenscourt Park, and that it makes for the perfect meeting space, then that would be marvellous.

As always it is lovely to see you all at Club and we can’t wait to show you more of our progress.
