APRIL 2.0 2022

How the days seem to roll into one another! The last time we updated you with our goings on was in January and now Spring has sprung so it is just the right moment to let you know of all the changes that have been taking place in your Club House.

The newest change is to the Captain’s Room which is now sporting a lovely new floor. New furnishings are sure to follow and make the room look even lovelier and a little cosier. We are also currently investigating new tables and chairs for the Members Bar which we really hope you will like.

On the bar we are still serving Chef Gary’s flapjacks which are going down a treat. We also like to add a pain au chocolat and a blueberry muffin whenever we get a chance. Chef Gary made some delectable Gluten Free Chocolate Pavlova cookies on the weekend so for those of you who were lucky to be here, I am sure you can agree that the calories were very very very worth it. We’re also thinking of having a Banana Basket for those of you who need slow releasing energy throughout your training session and/or workout.

Chef Gary has also launched our new Bar Bites which currently include Salt & Pepper Squid, Tempura Prawns and Vegetable Spring Rolls; much better than a bag of crisps I hear you say! We thought there were a few members who wanted to eat something small with their drinks so we are trialing this new idea and hope you enjoy it. We have also attached some photos of our Spring Summer Menus which we thought we would share with you just to show you what lovely delicious food Chef Gary is making.

At the back of the bar there are also some new additions which include a super healthy gluten free vegan snack bar which will give you that extra bit of energy either physically or mentally. We are also now stocking a great new energy drink call Brite. Brite drinks are natural nootropic drinks for better focus and productivity. They are made of organic matcha, guayusa and guarana high in antioxidants, vitamins, and mineral and include 150mg caffeine & 150mg L-theanine for a long lasting focus without jitters or a crash. They contain nothing artificial so there are no preservatives, no added sugar or sweeteners, no artificial flavourings or colours. They’re sustainable, plant based vegan drinks that are a perfect coffee and energy drink alternative. Brite Neuroscientists recommend up to 2 bottles per day. For a normal working day, it’s best to take a bottle in the morning after breakfast, following by another one in the afternoon after lunch. We’ve got three flavours available at the moment and look forward to showing them to you at the Bar.

Behind the bar you will also notice a new addition and her name is Kirsty. She is the newest member of our team and I am sure you will agree that she is lovely. Please let her know your names as she will need to get to know all of you and there are quite a few of you. She is at Linden House on a full time basis so she will be around, a lot. Lovely!

The Linden Social Events Program is very popular and to date we have run a very well attended Book Club Evening, a Calligraphy and Prosecco Evening and another great Comedy Night. Speaking of another Comedy Night there is one this upcoming week so please do come! We are working on some other events and hope to announce them to you in the very near future.

With regards to the day to day items at Linden House we need to let you know that we will be adding absorption mats to the area where all the weight lifting is taking place in the gym. This is due to the damage that is being caused by dropping weights from a height onto the floor. The Ballroom, which is the room upstairs is taking a pummeling so we kindly ask you to stop being so strong! On a serious note, if you can please make sure that the absorption mats are being used that would be appreciated.

We also need to let you know that those of you who park at Linden House will need to fill in the form that has been sent out to you. We need your contact details and registration number. We require this as there have been instances in the past where parked cars belonging to members have caused quite a bit of disruption. If you haven’t already done so please can you follow this link to the form - https://forms.gle/pj5QJpwAz1wA8ADSA

We would also like to please ask that you do not leave anything (of value or not) on display as we have had a series of break ins. Bicycles attached to the railings have also been stolen so, please ensure that you have a strong lock. We are working with the police and providing them with our CCTV footage which we now have the opportunity to do; this unfortunately doesn’t make up for a broken window or a stolen item.

We hope that you will enjoy the upcoming Bank Holiday (unfortunately the Club House will not be open) and fingers crossed the sunshine that should accompany it!
