APRIL 1.0
Lots of Members are not aware of the great spaces that their great Club House has to offer and are also not aware of the wide variety of events that are held so we have decided to show some photos of the rooms when they are dressed and styled as they would be for an event.
It may also be news to some that we acquired a civil ceremony license a year ago which means that couples are now able to not only hold the wedding reception at Linden House, but they can also host their wedding ceremony here too. We have noted that a lot of business for Linden House has come from Members recommending this great venue to friends and family and we would like to thank you for promoting your Club House to such an extent. We frequently host weddings at Linden House and wanted to show off one of our smaller rooms, the Boardroom, which is located on the Second Floor. We recently hosted a wedding ceremony and intimate dinner in the Boardroom for a few guests and wanted to show you the space all beautifully decorate by our florist, Philippa, from Francis Smith Flowers, and photographed by our photographer, Mel from Mel Brown Studios.
We are also looking forward to a great Summer filled with birthday parties and summer get togethers ranging in size and style but all celebrating being together after surviving a really tough year.
We are hoping to launch a new pop up starting from the 17th April which will be selling something called a Boerewors roll. Boerewors is a great spicy South African sausage made for the braai (for the barbecue in England). This great sausage, named by the Afrikaans people usually comes in the shape of a coil and is accompanied by Chakalaka and Monkey Gland Sauce. Chakalaka is a tomato relish and pairs beautifully with this Farmers Sausage. Monkey Gland Sauce has thankfully got nothing to do with monkeys or their glands and is instead a great sauce that is made to give that extra zing to this very simple but extremely tasty meat. Who doesn’t love a BBQ? We just need lots of sunshine and hot days to go along with our BBQ pop up.
We are also proud to announce that Lou from Scottie’s Coffee will be positioning herself at Linden House to sell much much better coffee than the hot stuff that comes out of our vending machine. Lou not only roasts her own coffee beans but she also sources the best of the beans available in countries from Peru to Columbia, to Mexico and Brazil. She will hopefully also start to provide us with her beans and then we will hopefully be able to sell these beans to you from Linden House. Alternatively, do jump onto her website or Instagram page where it is all clearly displayed ready for purchase.

We have also had to move away from Fullers Brewery and will be starting a new collaboration with Marstons Brewery. We hope that the offering we will be surprising you with when the doors open again is successful and welcomed. We are hoping to start with Courage Best Bitter, Shipyard American Pale Ale, Revisionist Craft Lager and San Miguel. We will of course, still have bottled real ales, pale ales and craft lagers in the fridges and as always, welcome any suggestions.
In order to celebrate the arrival of Spring and Summer we have added a few new spirits to our offering at the Member’s Bar which include Mermaid Pink Gin from the Isle of Wight Distillery. This great product is a plastic free item and features a compostable tamper-proof seal, biodegradable labels and natural cork stopper. By presenting their gin in a plastic-free package and supporting marine conservation projects, the distillery aims to preserve the environment of mermaids. Please make sure you support this great cause by basking in the sun on the Front Terrace with a large Mermaid Pink & Tonic in hand. I’m sure you will oblige willingly.
