FEBRUARY: WEDDING FAVOURS | YAY or NAY
A question that might arise when discussing the details of you wedding might be pertaining to wedding favours. There are many couples who wouldn’t have a wedding without a wedding favour and there are others who would prefer to allocate time, effort and ultimately, money on other aspects of their weddings.
For those who chose to go down the route of a wedding favour there are then another array of decisions to make surrounding these little presents. As a couple do you chose a wedding favour that is in keeping with your colour them? Do you choose to support a cause through the purchase of favours? Do you choose to go retro chic, boho or vintage? Do you go full out wedfest or full out disco? There are others who choose to go down the route of edible wedding favours which are always the most popular type of favour at our venue because not surprisingly they always get drunk or eaten.
Favours that can be drunk can be placed on the tables acting as part of the decoration and thereby completing the table setting or they can feature as a ‘Take a Shot. We’ve Tied the Knot’ station. This can be made available to guests after dinner has been served and your event moves into the party phase. A cheeky shot definitely gets everyone warmed up and ready to hit the dance floor.
Favours that are edible can again come in various guises and be served at different points in the day. There are some favours that are served when the team at Linden House serve tea and coffee. They are therefore a kind of petit four. There are others that act as a little pick me up and are served mid way through the party phase. We have seen couples opt for Sweet Stations ‘Love is Sweet, Please Take a Treat’ and Doughnut Stations. Brownies and Macarons also tend to feature later on in the evening and then there is always the Wedding Cake which is either devoured by guests or the team at Linden House can box slices for you which can then be taken home as a wedding favour.
There are also favours that are placed in different parts of the venue and quite surprisingly are found in the bathrooms. Some couples choose to place mints in the bathroom to keep everyone fresh and to be taken home to be remembered. They are ‘Mint to Be’ favours. Delightful!
Whichever favour takes your fancy always ensure that it is something that represents you as a couple and is also something which your guests will genuinely enjoy seeing, using, eating or drinking.
