COMMODORE'S ROOM | WEDDING CEREMONY
Wedding trends come and go and can affect the colour palette that you choose, the flavour of the sponge for your cake, how many tiers you choose for your cake, how many bridesmaids you have and if you have any maids of honour or men of honour, whether you have lots of lace on your dress, whether and so on. Wedding trends affect how much of your budget you spend on the venue, on the food and drink, on the number of guests and on the flowers you choose.
We have seen flower arrangements that are heavy with beautiful seasonal British flowers and we have seen exotic flowers dotted throughout the event, acting as accents to the floral design rather than acting as a feature. We have seen bud vases dropped off by florists on the morning of the wedding for us to position where we feel is more fitting depending on the layout that has been chosen (if you are comfortable with us repositioning flowers we are more than happy to help. we have extensive experience in this and it comes to us very naturally). We have seen floral arrangements that have been brought to our venue in the wee hours of the event and have then taken hours to set up. Each couple has had extensive discussions with their florist to ensure that their vision ties in with the flowers that have been chosen. Flowers are extremely important for the decoration of the space at Linden House and that is why we recommend you choose one of our florists. They know the space very well and know what works and where it works best. There are lots of extremely talented florists all around us and if you would prefer to source your own florist please do put us in touch with them so that we can have a conversation about what works suits Linden House.
We were fortunate enough to see Philippa from Francis Smith Flowers in action again with this stunning floral arrangement that she set up in the Commodore’s Room. This particular couple was following the trend where you go all out on flowers and set up a large installation that really makes a presence in the room. https://www.francissmithflowers.com/
We then had Laura from Laura Letters Life put together a beautiful piece which used our beautiful gilded mirror that wonderfully lets guests know that they are welcome! https://www.lauraletterslife.com/ This piece is really great for an eco-friendly wedding as the message can easily be wiped off and used for its original purpose. Laura and Philippa are both local and so you are supporting local businesses and female entrepreneurs. Greatness all around.
What must also be noticed is that the beautiful lilacs and blues of the delphiniums, paired with the blush pink roses are a stunning combination and right on trend for 2023 weddings.
