JANUARY 2024

Happy New Year!! Cheers to a fresh start and a year full of exciting possibilities! Sending you all warm wishes from the Linden House Team for a Happy New Year filled with love and joy.

As it is a new year we thought it would be a great opportunity to let you know what is happening at Linden House in the next few months!

Head Chef Gary is waiting for you to try out his new options for the weekend. Instead of having a separate breakfast and lunch menu we thought it would be helpful to have an extended breakfast menu so in essence we have a brunch menu that starts at the normal breakfast time. We thought we would add a few new breakfast items and some items for those of you who come off the water and need something hearty. We hope you will enjoy the new additions!

On the bar we are going introduce two new products which we hope you will be interested to try. We have now removed the draught cider and have added Brooklyn Defender which is an IPA. We have also been given a new piece of equipment from Guinness which is a Micro Draught Kit. This will allow us to serve Guinness from the bar on a regular basis and in more than enough time for the Six Nations to begin. That is definitely a win!

We thought we would formally introduce Nash who will be looking after you every weekend on the Bar. Nash has been working on the bar since October and is thoroughly enjoying being part of the team! Arthur and Glenda are still on the Bar and you will definitely see them on Tuesday and on the weekends in the evenings. Tara is still running our events and you are more than likely to see her on the weekends and then I am back running Linden House and have been doing so since September. For those of you who don’t know me I hope I will get the chance to meet you in the near future and then I will be sure to pop a photo onto the portal for those of you who don’t know what my gorgeous face looks like.  If you need anything at all please don’t be shy to get in touch via email at manager@lindenhouse.london or you can also call the Linden House landline 0208 748 1841 and either myself or Tara will be able to answer your query.

We are still running the Linden Social which offers members a great opportunity to enjoy the venue in another capacity apart from rowing and sailing. We have quite a few events that have discounted rates for members and then there are also events that are complimentary so be sure to take advantage of these events please.

The new year has got all kinds of fun events in store and we are kicking things off on the 5th January with Sofar Sounds in the Ballroom. There are free tickets available for members (limited so be sure to get them quickly) and it is a great night out with some incredibly talented musicians and poets! We then have a new addition to our weekly yoga sessions on Wednesdays with Eniko Suto. Eniko also does workshops every few months that are definitely worth attending, again at Linden House. We are continuing with Elena on Tuesday evenings and then Agnes runs a morning Wednesday session too. Agnes has very kindly offered two weekends that are introductions to yoga for free so if you are interested in trying something different for the new year please visit the Linden Social webpage www.lindenhouse.london/members

A couple of events are going to take place which will definitely require your dancing shoes; Friday Night Disco is taking place on the 19th January to raise funds for Maggie’s. There is a small ticket price which can include a curry should you so wish, and proceeds will be donated to this great charity. We then have Burns Night which is on the 25th January with food, drink and a ceilidh all on the programme.

We are super excited to announce that we have got Swingland Dance starting with us on Sundays, once a month for the time being but hopefully more. Swingland is offering a discounted rate for members so be sure to take up this fantastic opportunity. There is nothing more fun than dancing on a Sunday morning and then having a yummy breakfast afterwards; perfection.

We would also like to let you know that we will be hosting afternoon teas at Linden House. We hope to be able to do this on a more regular basis but for the time being we have two events pencilled in the diary, one is in support of the Barons Court Project in Hammersmith which provides a safe place for homeless individuals who are suffering from mental health issues. The second afternoon tea is being held to support Marie Curie’s and will be daffodil themed to bring in the new season! We hope you will be able to come and support these two great charities.

Our super popular supper club will continue in February and we have some great events in February too which are definitely worth pencilling in. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter on our website or alternatively simply write to events@lindenhouse.london asking Tara to add you. We send out a monthly newsletter which acts a reminder for upcoming events.

On behalf of the team and myself I would like to thank you for a great 2023 and look forward to doing some really great things for Linden House in 2024. Very excited to see you all at the Club House.
